The Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT is committed to respecting and protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy details the information related to the data collected and managed by CafeClima, provided by the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT as a service to World Coffee Research (WCR). When we collect any personal information, we act as a data controller. We are legally required to provide you with information about who we are, why and how we use your data and the rights you have over your data.

WHO WE ARE
This website is run by Centro International de Agricultura Tropical (CIAT), member of the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT (visit the Alliance's website hereas a service to World Coffee Research (WCR, website see here). By using this website, the user consents and agrees to all the terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here. If you do not agree with such Terms, please refrain from using the website.

DATA COLLECTED
We collect anonymous data from every visitor of the CafeClima platform to monitor traffic and check on problems. This includes information on web requests including IP addresses of site visitors, browser type and time of visit. When registering an account, we ask you to provide certain personal information such as your name and email to create your user profile. Unless it is required by law, we will not share your personal information with third companies or individuals. You can view, change and remove the data you have associated with your profile. If you wish to delete your account you can do it using the delete button on your profile page. You must have reached the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction to use CafeClima. CafeClima uses essential cookies to manage your login session and to record whether you have accepted or rejected the use of non-essential cookies.

USER DATA / USER-GENERATED CONTENT
We only use your personal information to provide you with better services or to let you know information about CafeClima. We take the privacy, confidentiality, and security of any data you submit or upload to CafeClima very seriously. The User-Generated Content or user data is and will be yours. You retain ownership of the data. We will never share or access your data outside the consortium CIAT- WCR, unless granted permission by you, to provide you with technical assistance.
By giving you these complete rights on your data it also means that you are the sole responsible for such data. In no circumstances The Alliance Bioversity-CIAT is responsible for data that you collect, store and share through CafeClima. The Alliance Bioversity-CIAT may disclose and otherwise use your personal and other information where we reasonably believe such disclosure is needed to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, (b) enforce applicable terms of use, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address illegal or suspected illegal activities (including payment and data fraud), security or technical issues, or (d) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of The Alliance Bioversity-CIAT, its users or the public, as required or permitted by law.

PROTECTING YOUR DATA
We use reasonable administrative, logical, physical and managerial measures to safeguard your personal information and data against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use and modification. These measures are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risks of storing your data in CafeClima. To further protect your data, we encourage you never to share your login information and to change your passwords regularly. RETENTION PERIOD FOR COLLECTED INFORMATION
We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, but barring legal requirements, we will delete your full profile and the content of your repositories within 90 days of cancellation or termination. You can request at any time for us to remove any of your data from the database by sending an email to Alliance-ACLIMATAR@cgiar.org or by deleting your account. User data will be stored on-premises in our shared database's infrastructure. The host server is protected adhering to our privacy and cyber security policy aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

YOUR RIGHTS OVER YOUR INFORMATION
By law, you can ask us what information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. You can also ask for it to be erased or ask us to stop using your information. The simplest way to do this is to cancel your account, which you can do at any time. You may also email or write to us using the contact details above.
